ABOUT
COACH MO

Coach Mo is a dedicated youth soccer coach in the Charlotte, NC area, known for blending technical development with character‑building on and off the field. With over a decade of coaching experience, he has worked with players ranging from beginners to competitive travel‑team athletes, helping them grow in confidence, discipline, and game intelligence.

Q: What inspired you to become a soccer coach?

I grew up loving the game, and coaching became a way for me to give back. I’ve always believed soccer teaches more than footwork — it teaches resilience, communication, and leadership. Helping young players discover those strengths is what keeps me motivated.

Q: How would you describe your coaching style?

I’m firm but encouraging. I focus heavily on fundamentals — first touch, spacing, movement without the ball —   because those skills build confident players. But I also make sure my athletes understand the “why” behind what we do. When kids feel ownership of their learning, they grow faster.

Q: What’s one moment in your coaching career that stands out?

A few years ago, I coached a team that struggled early in the season — low confidence, low chemistry. We focused on communication and trust, and by the end of the year they were playing like a unit. Watching them lift a tournament trophy after all that growth was unforgettable.

Q: What do you hope your players take away from your program?

I want them to leave with strong fundamentals, but more importantly, with belief in themselves. Soccer is a game of mistakes — the best players are the ones who learn to recover quickly and keep going. If they carry that mindset into life, I’ve done my job.
